Young Audiences of Kern County is one of 30 chapters in the National Young Audiences network, offering elementary schools Fine Arts-in-Education performances at designated school sites.  Our selected professional artists have been auditioned, demonstrating performance skills related to their particular art form, and the ability to interact with student audiences through sharing information, asking questions and involving discussions as ways of informing students about the artists’ expertise.

This fall will be the 36^th season Young Audiences of Kern County has served our public and private schools.  This program was started by Junior League of Bakersfield.  In the beginning, several performing groups came from the Los Angeles area.  This past season schools were offered a variety of choices from 22 programs in music, dance, theatre arts and ethnic programs.  Fifteen of our present roster live in Bakersfield . On request, additional artists come to our area.
