Programs

The Adventures of Lewis & Clark                Suggested grade level:  3-8

Presented by William Frederick Boycott as "Sergeant Patrick Gass" of the Lewis and Clark expedition of 1804.  Utilizing living history and dramatic interpretation, Sgt. Gass recounts the Lewis and Clark journey following the Missouri river fro St. Louis to its source in the Rocky Mountains and eventually, on to the Pacific Ocean.  Sgt. Gass describes this journey using expedition journal writings and some songs performed on fiddle, banjo, mandolin and guitar.  Traditional Native American Sign Language is also presented and it's usefulness is explained in communication with various Indian tribes along the trail.

History of the Wild West                            Suggested grade level:  3-8

Buffalo Bill brings his fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar and songs to tell the story of the settling of the West.  With songs, poetry and over 200 slides of historical paintings and photographs, he will engage the students in the struggles of Trappers, Cowboys, Railroad Workers, Miners, Pioneers of the Oregon Trail and the Native Americans as they faced a changing world.

Along the Oregon Trail                              Suggested grade level:  3-8

Using music and songs, based on diaries and stories of the pioneers, Bill "Buffalo Bill" Boycott, from Lander Wyoming, celebrates this historic trail.  The performance is accompanied with several slides of historical paintings and photographs as well as stories in Native American Indian Sign Language
